Independent discount digest

We don't mail on a schedule. We mail when a code actually works.

Alo Codes is a small team that types discount codes into checkout pages by hand. Most of them fail. The handful that survive — the ones that really take money off the total — are the only reason we ever open our email tool.

There is no fixed send day, no weekly quota to fill, no filler. Two emails a month is our ceiling, and plenty of months come in under it.

Free. Never more than twice a month. One-click unsubscribe in every email.

How it works

Three steps, and the third one is usually "no"

Every code we send has been through the same short, boring process. It is boring on purpose — that is what keeps dead codes out of your inbox.

STEP 01

We collect

Retailer campaigns, partner offers, seasonal sales, codes readers forward to us. Everything goes in one list, unfiltered, no judgement yet.

STEP 02

We test by hand

A real person builds a real basket and pastes the code into the real checkout. If the total doesn't drop, the code is dead — no matter what the landing page promised.

STEP 03

We mail — or we don't

Survivors get written up in two lines each and sent. If nothing survives, nothing gets sent. A quiet month means we had nothing worth your click, and we'd rather say so with silence.

What we cover

The categories we actually shop in

We only test things we'd buy ourselves, because that's the only way to know whether a discount is real. If a category isn't on this list, we probably can't judge it honestly — so we leave it alone.

electronics travel & hotels software food delivery subscriptions home & kitchen fitness gear mobile plans books & courses pet supplies office supplies grocery boxes

Some of the retailers we link to pay us a small commission if you buy. Those links are marked in the email, and commission never buys a place in the digest — a code that fails our checkout test doesn't run, whatever it pays.

Our promise

Three things we won't do to you

This is the whole deal between us and your inbox.

We won't send a code we haven't tried

Every code in the digest was pasted into a live checkout by one of us before it reached you. If we couldn't test it, it isn't in there.

We won't email you to fill a calendar

No fixed send day, no "sorry we've been quiet" catch-up notes. Two emails a month is the hard ceiling, and a month with nothing good in it gets zero.

We won't pass your address on

The list is never sold, rented, swapped or lent — not to retailers, not to partners, not to anyone. Leaving takes one click and we don't ask why.

Questions

Fair things to ask before you hand over an address

If something here isn't answered, write to us and we'll answer it properly.

Who is behind Alo Codes?
A small team that got tired of clicking through discount sites full of codes that expired months ago. We started keeping a private list of the ones we'd personally verified, friends asked to be on it, and it grew from there. We're not a publisher and we don't run a deals feed.
How often will you email me?
At most twice in any calendar month, and often less. There's no schedule to keep — the digest goes out when a tested code is worth passing on, and stays unsent when nothing is.
What does "tested by hand" actually mean?
One of us opens the retailer's site, fills a basket the way a normal customer would, and enters the code at the payment step. We look at whether the total actually falls. Codes that only work on one obscure product, or that quietly need a minimum spend nobody would hit, get dropped even though they technically "work".
Where does the money come from?
A few retailers pay us a cut when a reader buys through a marked link, and that cut pays for the hours we spend at checkout pages. It has never bought an entry in the digest. Requests to pay for a place in it get a short answer: no.
A code you sent has stopped working. Now what?
Tell us at [email protected]. Retailers pull codes without warning and we'd rather hear about it from you than keep pointing people at a dead one.
Will you sell my email address?
No — not now, not later, not to anyone. The long version is in the privacy policy, and it says the same thing with more words.
How do I leave?
One click on the unsubscribe link that sits in the footer of every digest we send. You're off straight away, and your address moves to a suppression list purely so nothing can re-add you by mistake.
